BRIEF
LIFE HISTORY OF SAINT HAZRAT SYED KHUDRATHULLAH SHAH KHADRI URF KANGAL SHAH
VALI (R.A)
Hazrat Syed Khudrathullah shah Khadri
Urf Kangal Shah Vali (R.A) is the progeny of Hazrat Syedna Ghouse-e-Azam
Dastagir (R.z) Baghdad (IRAQ). His ancestors came to India before the
establishment of Moghal Empire and settled in Sadhaura (Haryana) in North
India. When the mother of the Moghal Emperor Akbar the great, Nawab Hamida Banu
urf Haji Begum established a religious educational University, she appointed
Hazrat’s grandfather Hazrat Syed Abul
Makarim Khadri (R.A) its Vice Chancellor. All the Emperors of Moghal dynasty
were the devotees of his family elders due to their educational and spiritual learning.
After the death of Aurangzeb in 1707 the political conditions became worse, so
the elders of his family migrated to different places. Hazrat Syed Khudrathullah
Shah Khadri also left ShahJahanabad (New Delhi) and came to Kurnool in about 1725.
After
coming to Kurnool he decided to stay at a lonely place ten Kilometers
North-East from Kurnool. The place was full of wild animals. After his stay
people began to come and settled there gradually and a new village by name Bawapuram
came into existence. The people by their hard work and labour turned the barren
land into agricultural land. All unforeseen calamities, epidemics and evil
effects disappeared. The Nawab of Kurnool, Allaf khan-I, had deep devotion for hazrat.
Often he visited, the place where his tomb stands today. The Nawab of Kurnool
presented him the jagir of five estates around the village, but he refused to
accept the jagir saying that it is a temptation for a saint.
The
Nawab of Kurnool laid a road from Kurnool to Bawapuram so that the people of
Kurnool get benefitted by his spiritual and educational enlightenment. He used
to give sermons to his disciples. The saints, intellectuals even the Hindu
saints and ascetics used to attend his assembly to hear his sermons. Even today
irrespective of religion, cast and creed all peoples pay a visit to his tomb.
Many miracles were unfolded by this holy personality. Even now the people who
come to his tomb are not returned without their objective unfulfilled. He met
the Holy Spirit in the year 1766. On the first day of the sixth month of
Islamic calendar Sandal-e-Sharif took place and it performs by his 6th
grandson sajjade nasheen SYED AHMED MOHIUDDIN KHADRI . The people of all communities
attend the urs and they offer their attendance and gifts according to their
personal beliefs. The tomb of Hazrat Syed Khudrathullah shah Khadri (R.A) became
the resort of all.
